Hiroko Yakushimaru is a Japanese actress and singer from Tokyo. Yakushimaru made her acting debut in the 1978 movie Yasei
no Shomei. She has a minor role as young samurai in G.I. Samurai (1979). In 1981, she played the main role in Sailor Suit
and Machine Gun, a movie based on a novel written by Jirō Akagawa under the same name, which pushed her up into stardom, as
well as marking her debut in J-pop by singing the title song of the film. Her final J-pop release was on March 13, 1991.
