Tim Severin

Tim Severin

Tim Severin (born 1940) is a British explorer, historian and writer. He was born Timothy Severin in Assam, India, and currently lives in Timoleague, County Cork, Ireland, where he owns Argideen River Holiday Lodges. He was educated at Tonbridge School and Keble College, Oxford, where he studied geography and history. While still a student he embarked on the Marco Polo Expedition with Stanley Johnson and Michael de Larrabeiti. This was the start of his career as an explorer and writer.

Benjamin Walker is the truncated pen name of George Benjamin Walker, who also writes under the pseudonym Jivan Bhakar. He is a British citizen, and an Indian-born author on religion and philosophy, and an authority on esoterica in all its curious forms. He was born George Benjamin Walker, in Calcutta, the son of Dr Simeon Benjamin Walker, M.D. , and Mary Emily Fordyce, both of Pune, (Poona), India.

Guy Lyon Playfair

Guy Lyon Playfair is a freelance writer and translator best known for his books about parapsychology. Additionally, he's worked for several U.S. , British and Brazilian magazine, newspapers and publishing houses. From 1967 to 1971 he worked in the press section of the U.S. Agency for International Development in Rio de Janeiro. Widely travelled, he has lived in Brazil for several years. Andrea Wulf is an acclaimed biographer. She is the author of The Brother Gardeners, published in April 2008. It was longlisted for the Samuel Johnson Prize. Wulf was educated at The Royal College of Art, London, where she studied design history.
