Josep Samitier Vilalta, also known as José Samitier, was a Spanish footballer, manager and scout who played for FC Barcelona,
Madrid CF, OGC Nice, the Catalan XI and Spain. He later coached Athletic Madrid, OGC Nice and CF Barcelona and worked as a
scout for both CF Barcelona and Real Madrid. During his playing career with FC Barcelona he scored 326 goals and is second
only to Paulino Alcántara as the clubs all time top goalscorer.
Domènec Balmanya Perera, also referred to as Domingo Balmanya, is a former Spanish Catalan footballer and manager who spent
most of his playing career at FC Barcelona. As a manager he guided CF Barcelona to the a Copa del Generalísimo win in 1957
and to victory in the first ever Fairs Cup in 1958. He then had moderately successful spells at Valencia CF, Real Betis and
CD Málaga before he guided Atlético Madrid to a La Liga title in 1966. He subsequently managed Spain between 1966 and 1968.
Josep María Fusté Blanch, was a Spanish Catalan footballer and captain of Barcelona during the 1960s and early 1970s. In 1964,
together with Luis Suárez, Amancio Amaro, José Ángel Iribar and his Barcelona team mate, Jesus María Pereda, he also helped
Spain win the European Championship. He also played for CD Condal, CA Osasuna and Hércules CF. After retiring as a player
he worked as a public relations executive for Codorniu, a Catalan sparkling wine company.
Josep Escolà Segalés, also referred to as José Escol�, is a former Spanish Catalan footballer who spent most of his career
at FC Barcelona. Escolà also played for both Spain and the Catalan XI. After retiring as player in 1948, Escolà managed CF
Badalona, CE Sabadell FC, CD Castellón and Levante UD.
Estanislao Basora Brunet is a former Spanish Catalan footballer who spent most of his career at CF Barcelona. In 1974, during
the club’s 75th anniversary celebrations, he was included in their all-time best XI. Basora also played for both Spain and
the Catalan XI. At the 1950 World Cup he scored five goals for Spain.
Marià Gonzalvo Falcón, also referred to as Mariano Gonzalvo (his fathers come to Catalonia from Gelsa, Aragon) or Gonzalvo
III, is a former Spanish Catalan footballer who spent most of his career at CF Barcelona. Gonzalvo was regarded as one of
the most talented midfielders in La Liga during the 1940s and early 1950s. On December 7 1962 CF Barcelona played a testimonial
game against C.A. Peñarol in his honour. He also played for both Spain and the Catalan XI.
