José María Baquero Escudero (or Bakero) (born February 11, 1963 in Goizueta, Navarre) is a former Spanish footballer during
the 1980s and 1990s, currently a coach. Having played mainly for Real Sociedad and FC Barcelona, he began his career as a
forward (not being a prolific goalscorer) but was converted into an attacking midfielder, who possessed passing and netting
ability (with both his right foot and his head, the second despite his short stature) and great leadership skills.
