Gagarin's Start

Gagarin's Start is a launch site at Baikonur Cosmodrome, used for the Soviet space program and now managed by the Russian Federal Space Agency. The launchpad for the world's first human spaceflight made by Yuri Gagarin on Vostok 1 in 1961, the site was referred to as Site No.1 (Площадка №1) as the first one of its kind. It is also sometimes referred to as NIIP-5 LC1, Baikonur LC1 or GIK-5 LC1.

Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39

Launch Complex 39 (LC-39) is a rocket launch site at the John F. Kennedy Space Center on Merritt Island in Florida, USA. The site and its collection of facilities were originally built for the Apollo program, and later modified to support Space Shuttle operations. NASA began modifying LC-39 in 2007 to accommodate Project Constellation. Launches from LC-39 are supervised from the Launch Control Center, located 3 miles (4.8 km) from the launch pads.

Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Space Launch Complex 17

Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Space Launch Complex 17 (SLC-17), previously Launch Complex 17 (LC-17) is a launch site at Merritt Island, Florida. It was first built in 1956 for use with the PGM-17 Thor missile, the first operational ballistic missile in the arsenal of the United States. More recently the launch complex has been used for vehicles in the Delta rocket family to launch probes to the Moon and planets, solar observatories and weather satellites.

Plesetsk Cosmodrome Site 133

Site 133, also known as Raduga, is a launch complex at the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in Russia. It is used by Rockot, and previously Kosmos carrier rockets. It consists of a single pad, originally designated 133/1, and later 133/3. The first launch from Site 133 was of a Kosmos-2I, on 16 March 1967, carrying the Kosmos-148 satellite. Ninety Kosmos-2 launches were conducted, the last of which was on 18 June 1977, with Kosmos-919.

The Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR) (सतीश धवन अंतरिक्ष केंद्र) is the launch centre for the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It is located in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh, India and is also referred to as Sriharikota. The centre is located 80 kilometres north of Chennai in South India. It was originally called Sriharikota Range, and was sometime known as Sriharikota Launching Range.

Baikonur Cosmodrome Site 31

Site 31/6 at the Baikonur Cosmodrome is a launch site used by derivatives of the R-7 Semyorka missile. From 2009 onwards, it will be the launch site for manned Soyuz missions to the International Space Station, when launches switch from the Soyuz-FG carrier rocket to the Soyuz-2, which is unable to use the current launch pad at Site 1/5. It was first used on 14 January 1961, for an R-7A ICBM test mission. It is currently used for commercial Soyuz-FG/Fregat missions, and Soyuz-2 launches.
