Hey Ram is a controversial Indian film released both in Tamil and Hindi in 2000 and written, directed, produced by and starring
Kamal Haasan. A period drama told in flashback, the semi-fictional plot centres around India's Partition and the assassination
of Mahatma Gandhi.
Saagar is a 1985 Bollywood film directed by Ramesh Sippy. The film starred Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia, (who were both
first seen together in the hit film Bobby) along with Kamal Hassan. Saagar was a comeback film for Kapadia, and contained
a fleeting topless shot of Dimple. Also, Saagar was the Indian entry to Oscar for the year 1985 under the Best Foreign Film
Category.
Apoorva Sagodharargal is a Tamil language film starring Kamal Haasan in the lead role of the protagonist. Due to its success
down South, the film was dubbed into Hindi as Appu Raja in 1990 and like the original, was successful enough to become one
of the cult classics.
Pushpaka Vimana, or just Pushpak for subsequent films in other languages, is a black comedy Kannada movie released in 1988,
directed by Telugu/Kannada director Srinivasa Rao Singeetham. Though the movie was made in Kannada, it was also released in
Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam as well. Set in a large unnamed Indian city, the film is based on the king-for-a-day story.
The film is notable for its inventive recasting of the silent film form.
Karishmaa is a 1984 Hindi language film starring Kamal Haasan, Reena Roy, Tina Munim, Danny Denzongpa. Other cast include
Jagdeep, Sarika, Raza Murad, Viju Khote, Mac Mohan, Swaroop Sampat, Satyendra Kapoor, Mahesh Anand, Baby Pinky. Film is a
remake of the Tamil film Tik Tik Tik (1982) that also starred Kamal Haasan in the same role.
