Gilles Snowcat is a Belgian songwriter and interpreter, founding member of the music project Awaken. He founded it in early 1988 and turned it later into a band, before stepping back and leading it as a project. He is known for having a distinctive low echoed voice and using synthesizers as main instruments. Since 2005 he is part of the musical team of Japanese indies label It's Oh! Music in Miyazaki, Japan.
