Stéphane Maurice Dion, PC, MP (born September 28, 1955) is a Canadian politician who has been the Member of Parliament for
the riding of Saint-Laurent–Cartierville in Montreal since 1996. He was the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada and the
Leader of Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition in the Canadian House of Commons from 2006 to 2008.
Andrew Bonar Law (16 September 1858 – 30 October 1923) was a Canadian-born British Conservative Party statesman and Prime
Minister. He is the only British Prime Minister to have been born outside the British Isles.
John Gilbert "Jack" Layton, PC, MP (born July 18, 1950) is a Canadian social democratic politician and since 2003 has been
leader of Canada's New Democratic Party. He is a former member of the Toronto City Council and acting deputy mayor of Toronto,
Ontario. On June 28, 2004, he was elected Member of Parliament for the constituency of Toronto—Danforth. He is married to
fellow MP Olivia Chow. The son of a Progressive Conservative cabinet minister, Layton was raised in Hudson, Quebec.
René Lévesque was a reporter, a minister of the government of Quebec, Canada (1960–1966), the founder of the Parti Québécois
political party, and 23rd Premier of Quebec. He was the first Quebecer political leader since confederation to attempt, through
a referendum, to negotiate political independence for Quebec. Lévesque was a recipient of the title Grand Officer of the French
Legion of Honour. He was posthumously made a Grand Officer of the National Order of Quebec in 2008.
Kenneth Wayne "Ken" Dryden, PC, MP (born August 8, 1947) is a Canadian politician, lawyer, businessman, author, and former
NHL goaltender whose playing career won a place for him in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Dryden is married with two children and
two grandchildren.
Jennifer Mulhern Granholm (born February 5, 1959) is a Canadian-born American politician, former Attorney General of Michigan,
and the current Governor of the U.S. state of Michigan. A member of the Democratic Party, Granholm became Michigan's first
female governor on January 1, 2003, when she succeeded Governor John Engler. Granholm was re-elected on November 7, 2006,
and was sworn in for her second and, due to term limits, final term on January 1, 2007.
