René Lévesque

René Lévesque was a reporter, a minister of the government of Quebec, Canada (1960–1966), the founder of the Parti Québécois political party, and 23rd Premier of Quebec. He was the first Quebecer political leader since confederation to attempt, through a referendum, to negotiate political independence for Quebec. Lévesque was a recipient of the title Grand Officer of the French Legion of Honour. He was posthumously made a Grand Officer of the National Order of Quebec in 2008.

Lucien Bouchard

Lucien Bouchard, PC, GOQ is a Canadian lawyer, diplomat, politician and former Minister of the Environment of the Canadian Federal Government. He was the Leader of Opposition in the Canadian House of Commons from 1993 to 1996, and Premier of Quebec from January 29, 1996 to March 8, 2001. He became a central figure for the oui side in the 1995 Quebec referendum. He is the brother of noted historian Gérard Bouchard, and a recipient of the title of Commander of the French Legion of Honour.

Daniel Johnson, Jr.

Daniel Johnson, Jr. , GOQ is a former Quebec politician. He was a member of the Liberal Party of Quebec and was Premier of the Province of Quebec, Canada for most of 1994. Johnson was born in Montreal, Quebec. His father, Daniel Johnson, Sr. , had been the Premier of Quebec from 1966 to 1968 as the leader of the Union Nationale, a conservative political party. Johnson received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the Université de Montréal in 1966. He also received LL.M. and Ph.D.

George Johnson Clarke

George Johnson Clarke, KC was a New Brunswick lawyer, journalist and politician. A native of St. Andrews, New Brunswick, George Clarke taught school for a time in Charlotte County before studying law. He was called to the bar in 1885 and set up practice in St. Stephen. He was also editor of the Saint Croix Courier newspaper in St. Stephen. In 1907, he was named King's Counsel. In 1891, Clarke was an unsuccessful candidate in the Charlotte riding for a seat in the Canadian House of Commons.

Herbert Junior Swan

Herbert Junior Swan (born January 20, 1927) was the 18th Speaker for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. He held this post from 1982 to 1986. A member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Saskatchewan, Swan represented the Riding of Rosetown-Elrose. He was not a candidate for reelection in 1991 and left political life at that election. He is a resident of Beechy, SK.
