Christy Ring

Nicholas Christopher Michael Ring, better known as Christy Ring, was a famous Irish sportsperson. He played hurling with the Glen Rovers club from 1941 until 1967 and was a member of the Cork senior inter-county team from 1939 until 1963. Denis Joseph Carey, better known as D.J. Carey, is a retired Irish sportsperson. Gerald McCarthy

Gerald McCarthy is a retired Irish hurling manager and former player. He played hurling with his local club St. Finbarr's and was a member of the Cork senior inter-county team from 1965 until 1979. McCarthy captained Cork to the All-Ireland title in 1966 and is regarded as one of Cork's greatest-ever players. He managed the Cork senior inter-county team from 2006 until 2009.
